A Vehicle Mileage Log helps you keep track of distances travelled for work purposes and get reimbursed what you are owed.
There are three main reasons that an Account Manager would need to use a Vehicle Mileage Log:
The first is if you one of the lucky AMs who has their own company car. Your agency will probably want you to keep track of your travel in order to assess the ongoing viability of their company car fleet, and record the amount of business vs private use (which has tax implication in some countries).
The second is if you are a one-man-band selling graphic design, web design, copywriting, merchandise, PR or media buying services, etc. You use your personal car for work purposes, and so you need to know the exact amount of business vs private use to claim against your tax.
The third reason is if you are required to use your personal car to visit clients. You may work for a small agency that is unable to provide a company car for your use. If you do not have a "vehicle allowance" as part of your salary, then you will want to track the mileage that you do - on behalf of your company - in order that you get reimbursed exactly what you are owed.
With the Vehicle Mileage Log you'll easily keep track of total distance travelled, business distance travelled and business use %.
